Billy Eichner Craig Middlebrooks Billy Eichner is the former office manager of Eagleton’s parks department, the equivalent of Donna’s position in Pawnee. In the episode “Doppelgangers”, he and other Eagleton employees were brought in to Pawnee’s offices after the Pawnee—Eagleton city merger. Craig is the one former Eagleton Parks employee not laid off after the merger, and continues to work at the Pawnee offices under the title of “Associate Administrator”. By , he has replaced Ron Swanson as director of the Pawnee Parks department. Craig at first seemed to be the polar opposite to Donna’s more laid-back personality with layoffs imminent, Donna actually suggested to Leslie that Craig should have her job because he was much more passionate. The two of them bonded over their mutual love of the TV series Scandal. The overdramatic Craig often raises his voice to the point of shouting, and frequently blows things out of proportion, although he proves to be a highly efficient employee who is familiar with city politics and a strong negotiator. After recurring heavily during the show’s sixth season, Eichner was promoted to a main cast member in the seventh season, beginning with the fourth episode “Leslie and Ron”. Dave Sanderson Louis C.

Northwest What was once slated to be a controversial subdivision is now a unique island preserve thanks to the Little Traverse Conservancy. Oden Island, located south of the village of Oden, juts out into Crooked Lake and is the home to large old-growth trees and fragile wetlands. When a developer proposed crowding 34 homes on the east half of the island, the Conservancy orchestrated a response in that included an outpouring of support and donations from communities and families to protect the natural side of the island.

Today the acre preserve offers a parking area, nearly a mile of foot trails Heartland Tucked away on the east side of Alden, oblivious to most visitors who are mesmerized by Torch Lake to the west of town, is a small mountain with a short but interesting trail system. Coy Mountain Natural Area dates back to when Reuben Coy decided to preserve a ridge forested in virgin hardwoods that towered behind his gristmill.

It was the last remnant of the giant maples and beeches in a region that had been heavily clear cut by loggers. Modal Trigger Six deaths. Criminal charges related to an insurance fraud scheme. Welcome to Action Park. But would you go? Some — snakes in the rapids ride — were most likely fiction; others — tales of the owner bribing employees with cash to test drive some of the rides for safety or starting his own insurance company — were real. But the sign was no joke: Action Park was actually coming back this summer from the original owners.

The new Action Park promises to be safer, but you still risk bruises jumping off attractions like the Cliff Jump. Zandy Mangold The original owners, who had sold the park in — to a group that changed the name to Mountain Creek — bought it back in and started restoring old rides such as a river rapids, which they say the previous owners had dulled down. Riders stand in a capsule, where a trapdoor drops them into the foot-tall slide.

Not only do people remember the old park, which drew a million visitors annually at its prime; they miss it. The strength of that passion far outweighed the negative things.

Native fish recorded in the upper Ahuriri River, include alpine galaxias Galaxias paucipondylus , koaro Galaxias brevipinnis , common river galaxias Galaxias vulgaris , and upland bully Gobiomorphus breviceps. Oxbow ponds were formed from horseshoe bends left behind when the Ahuriri River changed course. The variety and number of habitats make the Ahuriri Valley wetlands extremely valuable to wildlife for feeding and reeding – both native fish and birds.

The easiest wetland to visit is Ben Avon, which is right beside Birchwood Road.
